Principal Update
On Wednesday 28th August, we had our afternoon celebrating Student Success at Kingston State School with FamilyLinq. Thank you all who were in attendance that afternoon. It was a lovely opportunity for parents and carers to see the work that has been occurring in the classrooms this term, along with being welcomed into FamilyLinq. I'm sure you will agree that not only is the space beautiful and bright, it will be an asset for Kingston State School families.
Some of our fabulous service providers were in attendance that afternoon as well. It was a great opportunity for parents and carers to see what services will be available to support families, right here at school. If you were not able to come on Wednesday, please come along to FamilyLinq and have a look. You will be able to come and meet the friendly team and enrol into FamilyLinq during the current school operating hours.
We are so privileged to be the site of the first FamilyLinq hub in Queensland. Please make sure you come along to learn more about the services available to you and your family. Check out the gallery before to have a glimpse at some of the service providers who will be onsite. Thank you as well to our friends at Kingston State College for their help with this event. We really appreciate your support!

National Child Protection Week
National Child Protection Week
Next week, our students will participate in Australia’s Biggest Child Safety Lesson. This important initiative, organised by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, aims to educate children about personal safety and empower them to make informed choices.
Why are these lessons important?
It is crucial that our children understand their rights to safety and the importance of seeking help. The lessons are designed to be age-appropriate and engaging, covering essential topics such as: understanding personal boundaries, recognising safe and unsafe situations and knowing how to seek help from trusted adults.
By participating in these lessons, our students will gain valuable skills that can help them navigate the world around them and ensure their safety.
What to expect
The lessons will be delivered through a video. Teachers will facilitate discussions and activities that reinforce the key messages of the program.
Resources for parents
We understand that these topics can be sensitive, and we encourage you to continue the conversation at home. Resources can be found at: https://danielmorcombe.com.au/keeping-kids-safe/keeping-kids-safe/australias-biggest-child-safety-lesson/
Together, we can make a difference!
As a school community, we are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all our students. By engaging in these lessons, we can help empower our children with the knowledge they need to protect themselves and seek help when necessary.
