Industrial Action - Message from Principal
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
As you know, most teachers will not be attending school on Wednesday, 6 August 2025 as part of a statewide strike related to ongoing Teachers’ enterprise bargaining negotiations between the Department and the QTU.
I want to reassure you that while there will be a significantly reduced number of school staff onsite during this day of industrial action, arrangements have been made to ensure students are supported. The safety and wellbeing of students remain our highest priority, as does ensuring that appropriate supervision is provided to all students attending school during the industrial action.
I wanted to communicate some of our processes in regard to this industrial action:
- All students who are attending school, are to assemble in the tuckshop shed. Staff have informed students of this, and support staff will be on duty to support students to go to this area.
- Students will NOT be with their class teachers tomorrow, and, most likely, will not be in their own classrooms. Changes to playground areas will also be occurring.
- School will start and finish at the normal times, and gate opening and closing times will remain the same.
- If for some reason, you need to sign in late, or depart early, the normal process will occur, however, please be aware that due to supervision requirements, there may be a significant wait.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work through this matter. Thank you to our parents and carers who have already informed our administration staff of their child’s absence tomorrow.
Yours sincerely
Robyn Marshall
Principal
