Deputy Principal Update
Teaching and Learning
We are fortunate to have an outstanding teaching team who are committed to helping our students reach their full potential. Our teachers have been extremely busy this week, finalising assessment for this term as well as reviewing and planning units of work for Term 4. They have collaborated and brainstormed innovating methods to deliver high-quality and engaging lessons for our students.
Behaviour Focus
Over the past two weeks, our school has prioritised respectful transitions from eating time back to classroom. To further support this, our school leaders, Ruth and Talan, have introduced a 'Captain’s Challenge'. Each cohort competed against one another to determine who could maintain the cleanest eating area and sit in two straight, quiet lines while waiting for their teachers. Last week, the winners of this challenge were Prep A, 3C, 4A, 5A, and 6B.
Guidance Officer Update
RUOK? Day is an annual event dedicated to empowering individuals to connect meaningfully with those around them by asking the simple question, ‘Are you okay?’. This initiative encourages open conversations about mental health, aiming to prevent harm by fostering a supportive community environment.
At our school, our Guidance Officers or Community Connectors at Family Linq are available as a supportive environment where parents can seek guidance and take action if they need support. We believe that by working together, we can make a significant impact on the wellbeing of our community.
In Logan, there are additional support services available for those in need. Lifeline offers 24/7 crisis support, while Headspace provides mental health support for young people aged 12-25. Beyond Blue offers resources and support for individuals experiencing anxiety and depression.
Remember, a conversation can change a life, so let’s make asking ‘Are you OK?’ a part of our everyday interactions.

TUCKSHOP
The P&C would like to extend our appreciation to our wonderful volunteer and P&C Treasurer, Kirsty, for giving up her own time to come and run the tuckshop for our students whilst we sourced a new convenor. Kirsty and her small pocket of super star volunteers have kept the tuckshop running so the students and teachers of KSS don’t go without. Without volunteers like this, our children would have missed out. Thank you so much Kirsty for all that you do for the P&C and our KSS families.
Term 4 will see our new convenor Mel starting. Please make her feel welcome.
