Principal Update

On Friday 6th September, we were joined by our Deputy Premier, the Honourable Cameron Dick here at Kingston State School to officially open FamilyLinq.  We were also joined by Department of Education staff, staff from Queensland Health, as well as from The Bryan Foundation as we officially opened the very first FamilyLinq facility in Queensland.  I encourage all  Kingston State School families to enrol in FamilyLinq to learn more about the opportunities that are available for support.

I'd also like to thank our School Captains, Talan and Ruth, along with our P and C executive for their support and contributions during the official opening.  We look forward to sharing more photos of the opening with you in the next edition of the newsletter.

FamilyLinq - Official Opening

The last day of Term 3 is this Friday, 13th September.  I wish you all a very safe and happy holiday.  We look forward to seeing all of our students back on Monday 30th September.

Staff Appreciation

Last week, we acknowledged the support that Teacher Aides, and other non teaching staff offer our staff and students.  We have a large team of support personnel who impact our students and staff in such a positive way to improve academic and social emotional outcomes for students.  As part of that acknowledgement, please see the overviews below of the different roles we have here to support our Kingston SS students, along with, some other celebrations from the week.

To all of our non teaching staff, thank you for all that you do.

Deputy Principal Update

Don’t forget to enrol for Prep 2025!

Our enrolments for Prep 2025 have commenced. If you have a child born between July 2019-June 2020 they are eligible to enrol for Prep for next year. When a family enrol their child to school, the school begin planning for the student, including orientation and class placement. We look forward to welcoming our prospective students through orientation and school visits in Term 4. Enrol before the end of the year to receive a free school shirt.

 Healthy Mouth Day

We have been working alongside Oral Health Metro South to complete Healthy Mouth Days for all classes this term. It has been a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about oral health and hygiene.

Behaviour focus

Our current behaviour focus, be respectful, has had a specific focus on transitions to explicitly teach and reinforce what it looks, sounds and feels like to transition respectfully in the classroom, playground and eating areas. This provides an opportunity for families to discuss and reflect on respectful transitions to and from school and how our students move around the school safely and respectfully.
